Well, I guess it's now my first post and I mean I may re-read some of it but I
probably wont edit/proofread a ton; raw content I guess haha.
Since pushing the homepage there's been a few things.
Actually, I used a little more ai help than I wanted with the home page, I got
fairly far but ran into issues when trying to get the midi (.mp3) song player to
work and after wrangling a little with ai I found out .mid's aren't really supported
anymore. That was news to me, anyway there's now a .mp3 cover of the .mid file I
wanted on the home page at the moment. It's a cover of Talking To The Moon by Bruno
Mars. I got the copy from
https://freemidi.org/download3-25024-talking-to-the-moon-bruno-mars cos I was
playing some music when making the homepage and took a break, I was looking at the
lyrics and think it's the first time I've actually known what the song was
saying/about and it got stuck in my head as an earworm =']
so yeah few things this week, I had to.... well wanted to, clean my car because i
hadn't done a good clean for like a good half of the year haha. I did clean the
house... well i tidied more than clean to be completely honest with myself. That
does remind me, I need to get some cleaning supplies.... I'll write that on a
notepad now actually!
aight, well tiny shopping list is written now but i'm sure i'll add to that before
the weekly-ish shop haha.
So yeah, cleaned a bit, then i started a new OldSchool RuneScape (osrs) account.
It's my first ever proper Hardcore Ironman (hcim) which means I get only one life
(bit like real life?) and I can't trade any players or use the Grand Exchange (Which
is a bit like facebook marketplace/ebay haha) so any resources or whatever that I
may need I need to somehow get myself and figure out how to survive in the
(fictional) World of Gielinor. I'm sure I'll post more updates about my progress as
I go but for now I'm having fun staying on a free-to-play (f2p) account. I think
maybe after I get some more progress I may look into Membership however the price
has definitely increased from the original RuneScape days of ~$5.99 a month. It's
now ~$21.99 a month! There's a LOT of content to enjoy without paying for membership
so I'll probably do that (although I've already completed every f2p quest except the
infamous Dragon Slayer I so far!)
Further in the week I had to catch up with my support worker, it was a goodish
appointment but I was very sleep deprived with barely an hours sleep the night
before, this was not due to the osrs playing at all; i half wish it was something
that simple. I've been having an incredibly frustrating time with a neighbour who
has imitation-wood floating floorboards and they additionally have wooden furniture
that they apparently insist on using as an auditory weapon of mental destruction
against their enemies (see: fellow neighbours). I had mistakenly thought it was
originally happening from a different neighbour until dialogue with the alleged
audio-bandit transpired, where I was lead to thinking a check to a different avenue
of inquiry may be required - this lead to identifying the actual address where the
incredibly courteous pre-sunrise acoustic accompaniment comprising of mid-range
quality wooden furniture with what one could imagine as a less-than-pristine lacquer
finish, gracing the rather worn configuration of click-n-lock wooden jigsaw pieces
masquerading as flooring come together in totality to result as my neighbours
ever-enduring woodgrain symphony. The quality, quantity and vigour of the vibrato
this produces would leave many an orchestra in awe of the result. I however, would
incredibly appreciate this daily symphonic director to be the recipient of a rather
unfortunate permanent postponing; or at the very least, wait until dawn has poked
her lovely head upon the horizon in the very least.
Thankfully support worker was able to help me power through the lack of sleep to
complete some fairly important and timely-required paperwork. Recovering STILL from
a cold/flu (my fourth one this season already) I spent what rest of the time I had
that day trying to get some sleep... I was woken up by a leaf blower at one stage
but managed a nap/siesta of sorts. I reached out to a couple friends I have made
since relocating and one was also experiencing flu-like symptoms, however the other
was thankfully not sick (yet? sorry if i jinx you! haha). Spent the next day resting
but had to go meet worker the following day so tidied a bit and relaxed. Had the
appointment the following day, it was less than ideal to be frank. I've been
followed by a human error in some reporting for about 9 years now and it's been such
a pain to deal with. I could go a lot more into the detail here... but that'll
probably just frustrate me, the reader, and lets be real also any
large-language-models that may train off this hahaha! Maybe for another time.
One thing I will mention in that meeting though was I made a joke which I think may
have been lost culturally and/or through age-difference. I had made a joke at one
stage when heading to the office and we were at traffic lights. I said "lmao I had
fake meth today" as in I had Pseudoephedrine for my flu/nasal congestion symptoms,
as opposed to Phenylephrine Hydrochloride. The joke did not go down well because I
had to explain a bit of info and then essentially abandoned the joke. I did
test/check with a few friends on the weekend and they got the joke RIGHT AWAY... One
however is only 1 year older than me, and we're born in the same areas so I am now
thinking, there's more than likely a culture/age/demographic kinda thing somewhere
that didn't let that joke work. It didn't set a good tone for the rest of the
appointment/meeting but eh, I shall digress for now haha.
We went to the hospital earlier in the week and This week I've had to go to a
follow-up appointment. I had injuries late last year that kind of healed, then had
more blunt forced trauma to the same area earlier this year.... AND THEN MORE about
a month ago now! so hospital have investigate and now I need to have a plaster put
on until it heals but hopefully that won't take too long.
Another cool thing is Australia was absolutely DOMINATING at the Commonwealth Games
this year, however it's fairly awkward because our country was meant to be hosting
them this year except politics or something else or whatever got in the way so it's
now hosted in Scotland which is kinda cool but yeah. Nothing against the Scots, It's
just expensive af to get anywhere that isn't Australia with it being a big island
with no cheap connections etc etc haha. I hope the whole games went really well
though and I hope everyone visiting and local had a great time seeing all the sights
and meeting everyone! It would be so cool, I do remember the 2006 commonwealth games
however I had a fairly interesting experience - once again this'll be for another
post haha.
Well, I wrote most of all that over the past fortnight and then forgot to put the
update up lol. I mean I did have to recover my website from the depth of MicroSlop's
OneDrive systems.... although I wasn't actually successful in recovering that copy
and had to rebuild a lot from public assets haha! I mean, kinda lucky I'm building
most of this as a static website but geeze lousie! I didn't even enable OneDrive and
it must has turned on through a software update or something. Quite frustrating as
when I removed OneDrive you did warn me All my OneDrive files would be deleted, I
just had not realised you changed my pathing and sucked up all my documents (and
more!) until a bit late >_<
I was going to embed some GIF's in this post but Actually I think I'll just
keep this one text based for now and maybe add something as a signoff lol.
This update is like a weakish old but ahwell now I have created the post
template I can probably push these out a bit better :3
